- Open the Facebook app or visit the Facebook website on your computer and log into your account.
- In the Facebook app, tap the three horizontal lines in the bottom right corner of the screen to open the menu. Click the down arrow in the upper right corner of the Facebook website to open the menu.
- Scroll down the menu, tap Settings & Privacy, and select Settings.
- On the Settings page, find and tap Ads or Ad Settings.
- The Advertising Preferences section displays various advertising options. Tap Ad Settings or Ad Settings to continue. You will see various ad customization and settings sections. Here are some options you can consider.
Advertising theme: Tap the Advertising Topics section to view and manage your Facebook-identified interests. You can remove specific themes or customize settings.
Advertiser: In the Advertisers section, you can see which advertisers have targeted ads based on your activity on Facebook. You can hide specific advertisers or remove them entirely.
Advertising settings: This section allows you to control the ads you see on Facebook. You can opt out of features such as ads based on your activity on Facebook and non-Facebook websites/apps.
Hide Ad Topics: If you see an ad you don't want to see, tap the three dots in the top right corner and select Hide Ads. Facebook will ask why, so you can hide ads from that advertiser or on specific topics.
- Please note that although you can customize your advertising preferences, you cannot entirely opt out of all Facebook advertising. However, you can customize the ads you see and make them more relevant to your interests by managing your ad settings.
