- Open the Telegram app on your phone.
- Tap on the three horizontal lines in the top left corner of the screen to access the menu.
- Tap on "Settings" at the bottom of the menu.
- Scroll down to the "Data and Storage" section and tap on it.
- Look for the "Media Auto-Download" option and tap on it.
- You should see three options: "When using mobile data," "When connected on Wi-Fi," and "When roaming." Tap on each option and select "Never" for videos.
- If you want to turn off the auto-downloading of videos for all chats, select "Never" for all three options.
- If you want to turn off the auto-downloading of videos for specific chats, tap "Exceptions" under each option and select the chats you want to turn off.
That's it! You have now successfully turned off the auto-downloading of videos on Telegram. When you receive a video, you will now have to download it if you want to watch it manually.
